Selena Gomez is ready to conquer the world with her new album
Stars Dance (which is phenomenal by the way), and she is in rare form this era. Selena's follow-up single to the smash hit
'Come & Get It' is 'Slow Down', a track that leaked a while ago and is by far one of her best songs. I particularly like the chorus because of the chanting "oh oh ohs" which reminds me a lot of Britney Spears's
'Till the World Ends'. It's got that epic chorus that just makes you sing along with it. The video is also superb, and reminds me even more of Britney. Selena has remarked quite often that the Princess of Pop is a huge inspiration of hers, and this era proves that. The video is dark and sexy, Selena taking on a vixen personality, looking sexy and strutting her stuff. She sings in the car as she's on her way to the club, she walks down the dark streets looking like a femme fatale, and she has some big choreography with lots of back-up dancers, à la Britney. The video is by far one of my top favorite Selena videos, and I guarantee you this song is going to slay just like 'Come & Get It' did.
