'Blink' by Cascada

Cascada are a British-German dance-pop duo who rose to fame with their worldwide smash 'Everytime We Touch' which is probably one of the most iconic songs of our generation. The duo have gone on to release four albums, the most recent of which, Original Me, was released in 2011. After their failed Eurovision attempt last year, the duo are back with an infectious new single that should be playing over your stereos all summer long.

'Blink' is a massive EDM tune that is an instant hit from the opening chords. The song is all about living life to the fullest, and that means not even allowing yourself a chance to blink. The club beat slowly builds up through the first verse until it hits the chorus where lead singer Natalie Horler's vocals hit a peak and power over the pounding beat. I actually think this may be my favorite song of theirs, after 'Everytime We Touch' of course. Long live Euro-dance!

'Wild Wild Love' Music Video by Pitbull featuring G.R.L.

G.R.L. are on finally on their way to the top after being featured on Pitbull's new song 'Wild Wild Love'. These girls deserve to be on top, and hopefully this song will put them in a good position to do just that. Today the music video for the song was released.

In typical Flopbull fashion, the entire video was him being surrounded by gorgeous women which ultimately made him look like a pervert. But I digress. The video starts in the Playboy mansion where G.R.L. are negotiating a business deal with Pitbull. After some back and before and a seductive game of chess, Pitbull decides they should close the deal in Miami. So of course we're taken back to his hometown like in every video of his.

Thankfully G.R.L. save the video by whipping out some choreo while looking fine as hell. It's not the greatest video, but G.R.L. are taking their moment to shine and I hope to see big things from these girls in the coming months.

'It's On Again' by Alicia Keys featuring Kendrick Lamar

Alicia Keys usually releases one or two hit singles and then drops off the face of the earth for three years before releasing another hit song. Since 'Girl On Fire' she hasn't released anything noteworthy, but that all changes today. Teaming up with rapper Kendrick Lamar, the duo have released the closing song for the new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film due out in April.

'It's On Again' begins with a truly epic rap from Lamar, delivered with a fiery passion and anger that could easily rival Eminem. After that, Alicia takes the reigns of the Pharrell and Hans Zimmer-produced track. Over funky beats and strings meant for a cinematic paramount, Alicia's smoky vocals bounce in a fittingly lackadaisical manner interjected with quick staccatos. It all blends really well and makes for an interesting song.

'Where Did We Go' by Misha B

Misha B is best known for being on the 8th season of The X Factor UK, slaying the competition as a rapper and singer. She had the pipes to back up her talent. Since the show she has released two mixtapes and various songs which is a shame because she could release an album and I know it would blow people away.

Today we finally got a brand new song from her, and it's massive. 'Where Did We Go' is a song Misha wrote after a bad break-up, and the emotion oozes out of this one. The song starts off slow with Misha's gorgeous vocals caressing the beat before an electro beat tempers and then flares which gives it a very distinct mid-tempo vibe. Misha then powers through with her vocals and her talent is undeniable. There's so much potential in her, and I pray we will get an album from her in the future.

'It's My Party' by Icona Pop featuring Ty Dolla $ign

Out of nowhere, the duo that ruled our summer last year dropped a brand new track. Icona Pop are a tour-de-force, and their new collaboration features a more hip-hop oriented sound with a relatively unknown rapper. It's a change from their past stuff but is still very much signature Icona Pop.

'It's My Party' borrows lines from the classic 1963 Lesley Gore hit of the same name. The verses feature drawling lyrics delivered over swagged out thumping bass, before the Swedish duo go into their signature chanting style. Ty Dolla $ign's rap modernizes the original classic, and we also know where Kesha's dollar sign went to. While it's nothing extraordinary, it's something different from the girls to enjoy.

'These Streets' Music Video by Frankmusik

Yesterday Frankmusik released the second single (third promotional single) from his upcoming fourth studio album By Nicole. Second single 'Dear Nicole' was a huge standout for me featuring a powerful vocal from Frankmusik, but this new track lightens things up a bit.

'These Streets' diverges from the elctro-pop power ballad that 'Dear Nicole' was and gives us a more upbeat tune filled with guitars and towards the end a sweet trumpet that gives the song a slight jazzy feel. The song is much more relaxed and laid back with more of a standard UK pop sound but still remains unequivocally Frankmusik. In addition to waiting for this album, I also want that sweater he's wearing.

Tammie Brown and Her Hot Skunx

Tammie Brown is famous for being on the very first season of RuPaul's Drag Race and then coming back for All Stars as well as for being one of the kookiest and most polarizing contestants to ever be on the show. Her now infamous line "teleport us to Mars!" is literally what I think of when I think of this drag star.

Tammie has become one of my top favorites because of how original and talented she is. People don't seem to quite "get" her but I do and I love every moment of it. Tammie is also a singer, but unlike her fellow sisters like Manila or Willam, Tammie produces folk rock music which is unusual in the drag scene. She also does a lot of it in Spanish. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

She just released her debut album yesterday, Hot Skunx, following her first EP Popcorn which was released back in 2009. She may not have the best singing voice, but her music is filled with passion and love, and that transcends all. Her double feature music video for tracks 'Amigos Son Heroes' and 'La Teleraña' sees her at a party and she's simply jamming out with her friend Michael Catti. It's certainly not for everybody, but as a huge fan of miss Tammie-with-an-I-E it's only right I support her.

And don't forget to make time to walk children in nature!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6: Oh No She Betta Don't

Last week's episode of Drag Race finally saw Gia go home, a sight we were all too happy to see. With tensions rising and the competition mentality really beginning to set in, these bitches are out for blood. The beginning of the episode once again begins with Darienne getting pissed off with BenDeLaCreme, and it's really getting old. First up is the mini-challenge which is of course related to Paris Is Burning. Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal. That's right kittens, the queens read each other to filth.

In all honesty, this was the challenge ready for Bianca to murder. She reads a bitch better than any queen I've ever seen, and so it was a shock to not see her win. Adore came up with some pretty great ones, including the drop dead quip she used for Laganja. DeLa and Joslyn cracked me up a bit as well. Darienne went in, and although she had a few good reads, it began verging into nasty territory, a theme which continues throughout the episode. Frankly, she should not have won.
For the main challenge, the girls are tasked with a '90s rap challenge where they have to prepare a rap for the DJ ShyBoy produced 'Oh No She Betta Don't' as well as choreograph a routine. Since Darienne won the mini-challenge she gets to choose the four queens she wants on her team. Naturally, she picks the performers: Laganja, Bianca, Adore and Courtney for the Panty Hoes, leaving DeLa, Milk, Trinity and Joslyn for the Ru Tang Clan.
Rap legends Trina and Eve are on set to coach the girls as they perform their raps. Overall, the queens struggle. Other than Bianca, Courtney and a few others, the girls fumble their lyrics time and time again. Darienne is completely out of her element, and she was by far the worst. Trinity's rap is very awkward and off-beat, and although Milk goes for something left-of-center like usual, I found it quite charming.

Joslyn Fox
Josyln has really been surprising me since last week, and I think this was the first episode that she really stood out as a contender. Her rap was one of the best. How can you not love "a mother-fishin' drag queen?" Her runway was over-accessorized to the max, but she still looked damn sexy.

BenDeLaCreme
She still surprises me on a weekly basis, and this week was no exception. She brought out the Creminem and slayed her rap. There's no reason why she won't be in the Final 3. Her runway this week was old school glam and while I liked it, it was safe as she has already shown us she can do that.

Trinity K. Bonet
Ugh, another episode full of her complaining and trying to defend her lack of talent. Get over it girl and prove yourself. Her rap and performance in the video were weak. Her runway was much better as she served hippie Cher Half-Breed glam. She's really getting tiresome and needs to go.

Milk
Milk does herself each week, and even through it all she still comes out unique and fun. I personally loved her rap and performance because it was different than everyone else's. On the runway she finally served up glam and she looked gorgeous. Everything about her look was right for me, even though the judges read her.

Laganja Estranja
Laganja was subpar once again which really bums me out. She's just not living up to the House of Edwards name like I expected her to. I really liked her rap, but her look and performance weren't all that great. However, I think this was her best runway yet because it was sheer Laganja.

Darienne Lake
I really loved Darienne in the beginning but her nasty attitude is turning me against her. She was atrocious in the challenge and should have been sent home just for that. On the runway her mug was beat as usual, and the dress was simple but pretty. It honestly wasn't enough for me though.

Bianca Del Rio
Bianca served up some hilarious moments during her rap, easily being my favorite. There's literally nothing she can't do. For her runway she served up some caftan-realness, and she looked stunning. She's taking the judges critiques about her make-up and making herself look her best.

Adore Delano
Adore was ready for this challenge, and she totally brought it. It's nice to finally see her succeed like I know she can. Her rap was perfect and she served the look and attitude. Her runway was very sexy, and even though her stomping was a bit over the top, I thought this was her most put together outfit. I especially loved the hair.

Courtney Act
Courtney flew under the radar this week. She was almost non-existent in the rap challenge. On the runway she came out in a duvet and a pillow, only to throw it off and reveal sexy lingerie. I love Courtney, but she's relying on her body far too much. I have yet to see an incredible outfit from her yet.

In the end Adore rightfully won the challenge, and sadly Milk and Trinity found themselves in the bottom. I honestly don't think Milk should have been there. It should have been Darienne and Trinity lip syncing. Since it's a hip-hop track that they perform to, Trinity had the upper hand. I have never been more upset to hear those words "Sashay away" said to my dear Milk. In six seasons of Drag Race, I have never disagreed so passionately with a decision Ru has made because I can usually see his reasoning. This time Milk deserved to stay another week.
Make sure to catch Drag Race next week because it will be a back-to-back extravaganza. Three hours of drag next week? I'm down.

And make sure to check out the music video for 'Oh No She Betta Don't' below and pick up your copy at iTunes as the proceeds go to a very important cause.

Kenyth Mogan and the Holograms

Welcome to the blog's very first interview! I'm incredibly proud at how far this little side project of mine has come in the last three years, and today we're venturing into new territory with Magic Chat. Last weekend I sat down with up-and-coming pop singer Kenyth Mogan to discuss a very exciting project he is working on. Back in September I got an exclusive listen of his debut EP Fall Apart and since then I've been hooked. His career is beginning to take off, and hopefully you all will support him with this new film project. Without further ado, I give you my conversation with Kenyth.

MC: So for those not familiar with you yet, describe your music and the kind of artist you are.

KM: I am kind of a strange dichotomy when it comes to music. My music is very club oriented and geared towards the LGBTQ audience, but I'm not your typical LGBTQ artist. I'm starting out a little bit older and I'm not just banking on sex appeal to sell my music. I'm kind of the every-man artist. I want to be the one gay kids look up to and who their parents aren't afraid to let them listen to.

MC: That's refreshing to hear. Your "Fall Apart" EP is on constant rotation in my iTunes. It's quality pop music and so much fun. Do you have any other projects in the pipeline?

KM: Thank you! That makes me happy! I'm actually going into the studio in April to record a duet with another out singer Brendan Velasquez and will release my next solo single in October.

MC: It's awesome to see things taking off for you. I'll be anxiously awaiting that new single.

KM: I'm nervous. I can't say too much about it, but it is a cover song and is a song I've grown up loving done by one of my favorite artists. It took my agent forever to convince me to do it, now I hope I can do it justice.

MC: So I hear that you are trying to get involved with the new Jem and the Holograms film that was recently announced? Tell me more about that.

KM: Yeah! I grew up loving Jem and the Holograms. It was one of the shows I would wake up for at 4:30 in the morning on Saturdays to watch along with He-Man, the Snorks, the Smurfs, and Rainbow Brite. When I started getting into the industry everything I did started to somehow be connected to Jem. Through the press I've done, I got to know Britta Phillips who was the singing voice of Jem and Brendan's manager, who I'm also working on a TV series with, knows Samantha Newark who was the speaking voice of Jem. When they announced they were doing a Jem movie I had to audition. Even if I don't get anything, I had to try, because I loved the show and both Britta and Sam have been incredibly supportive of me in my music and with auditioning for the film too.

MC: Since some of the younger generation might not be too familiar with the show, can you give us a quick synopsis and tell us why you feel such a connection with the show?

KM: Of course! Jem and the Holograms follows the adventures of Jerrica Benton, who after loosing her father inherits half of a record label, Starlight Music. The other half is owned by Eric Raymond, a creep of a man who does anything he can to win. Jerrica's father also left her his greatest invention, a multi-functional computer system capable of generating completely realistic holograms through a special pair of earrings. Jem is created after Eric tries to rig a contest that would take Jerrica's half of the record label. Jem is a truly outrageous rock star with bright pink hair who sings sugary pop songs.

I related to Jem, as a I think a lot of gay kids did back in the day because Jem/Jerrica had to hide themselves. No one outside of Jerrica's sisters really knew she was actually Jem. Does that make it sound lame?

MC: No not at all. It sounds very relatable and I can understand why people all over the world have related to the show. Is there a character in particular that you would like to play?

KM: I'd be Fab Boy #752 if I had to, but Techrat would be my dream. He's kind of the creepy computer geek.

MC: Who are these characters and why are you drawn to them?

KM: Techrat is a part of Eric Raymond's group, a misfit. He's kind of a geek and he's dangerous but also kind of a nut. I've always wanted to play someone kind of evil.

MC: That would be fun to see since I see you as a peppy, all smiles kind of person. Do you have any prior acting experience?

KM: Peppy! I love it.

My first acting on a film was on the Polish Brother's "Northfork" when I was just in high school. I got to work with Peter Coyote, James Woods, and Darryl Hannah, all of whom were amazing.

MC: It's clear that you're very passionate about being a part of this film so how can myself and anyone else help get the word out about you?

KM: Just share the link to the YouTube video with the hashtag #JemTheMovie.

'Solar' by Cosmo Sheldrake

About a month ago, I shared an awesome new track with you guys by up-and-coming artist Cosmo Sheldrake. 'The Moss' is still on constant rotation in my iTunes. Sheldrake is bringing something completely new to the scene with his folksy synth pop sound.

The B-Side to his debut single is something that Björk would have included on her Biophilia album. 'Solar' is a "hymn to the sun" that uses recordings of the sun captured through a process called stellar seismology. Over that, Sheldrake recites the words from William Blake's poem "I Rose Up at the Dawn of the Day." It's quite a clever idea and he really pulls it off. Accompanied by flutes and pygmies, Sheldrake creates an alternative sound that leaves me breathless.

I'm really drawn to Sheldrake as an artist because he's clearly quite intelligent and I love the highly literary nature of his work. It makes the English Literature nerd in me very happy. His debut single 'The Moss' is officially released this month.

'Weight' Music Video by Latrice Royale featuring Epiphany Mattel

The large and in charge Latrice Motherfuckin' Royale who won our hearts on Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race is getting her music career poppin' with the release of her debut music video. She released her first single a while back, but we've now got the visual and Latrice shows us that she never has a bad hair day.

The video for 'Weight' includes a few famous faces like Dida Ritz before jumping into the actual video. Latrice decided to go with a remix for this one and I quite like it. It has more of a trap vibe to it which is cool and compliments Latrice's voice very well.

Latrice appears in a variety of outfits, each showing off how flawless of a queen she is. From the sexy vixen (above) to pageant queen realness (below) she looks sickening from head to toe. The video includes shots of her performing the song live, and it wouldn't be complete with a signature Royale split. Move over skinny bitches, the big girl is here to show you how it's done. You'll need your Jesus biscuit to come sop you up after this one!

'Chi-Raq' by Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Herb

This morning Nicki Minaj unexpectedly dropped another track. This is her third new song following her remix of 'Danny Glover' and the original track 'Lookin' Ass Nigga' that she went HAM on. While this isn't from her upcoming album The Pink Print, it seems like Nicki's just trying to tease and ramp up her return.

The new song 'Chi-Raq' features new rapper Lil Herb from the Windy City and the song is aptly titled. The song is a gritty composition that is more street-ready than any of her other stuff. This is Nicki in her element and I love hearing her drop rhymes like they're going out of style.

The outro of the song is the most telling part of the song because Nicki says, "I might give you a new trick every week until this album drops....I don’t know, I figured they wanted some more." Yes we do want more! So I guess we can expect a few more songs to drop until The Pink Print is released later this year.

'Bitchy' Music Video by Phi Phi O'Hara

Phi Phi O'Hara has been one of the most polarizing contestants in RuPaul's Drag herstory with her cut-throat attitude during Season 4, but you have to admit that she was one of the most entertaining contestants. I was a huge fan of hers during the show and she is still one of my favorite queens of all time. Contrary to popular belief, she's actually a sweetheart in real life.

Last year when Season 5 began, Phi Phi claimed she was going to be releasing her debut single 'Bitchy' but then the conversation got dropped and we never heard anything about it again. A few weeks ago, Phi Phi finally announced that she was ready to release the single and video and now it's finally here.

'Bitchy' is not your typical dance pop drag queen tune which is refreshing to hear. The song is very much pop rock, sort of in the style of P!nk. It's actually got a very catchy chorus and is quite anthemic. The message is basically that you can call her "bitchy" all you want but she's here to win and succeed. It's really about being strong in life and overcoming those labels that other people put on you. It's inspirational and just goes to show how incredible of a person Phi Phi is. And her voice is pretty damn strong.

The video sees Phi Phi serving up some '90s realness as she's decked out in outfit upon outfit. There's so much diversity in terms of her looks I don't even know where to begin. I'll just leave it here: she is absolutely stunning. Phi Phi knows how to perform, and I love the Miley homage with the sledgehammer she gives us at the end. Phi Phi is here to slay and ya'll better get on board with it.

'Xscape' by Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson may have left this Earth too soon, but he still has catalogues of unfinished music locked away in vaults. L.A. Reid obtained permission to put together a new posthumous collection of the King of Pop's stuff, and the first single has arrived.

The title track off the new album, 'Xscape', was originally recorded during the Invincible era. It is the first of eight unreleased songs that are being "contemporized" by some of the biggest hit makers in the game. Rodney Jerkins had controlled over this one, and 'Xscape' features Michael singing over a '70s disco and '90s R&B beat. The voice is undoubtedly Michael but I feel like the music is drowning out his voice.

I haven't quite decided if I find this track to be brilliant or a mess. It's leagues better than the music from his first posthumous album for sure so I have high hopes for this next project. Even though Michael didn't put his seal of approval on this material, it's always refreshing to hear new music from the greatest entertainer that ever lived. Xscape is due out May 13th.

'Slow Dancing' by Betty Who EP Review

$

0
Betty Who has been one of the biggest budding new pop stars in recent memory ever since her hit 'Somebody Loves You' went viral and got everyone talking. Her first EP The Movement consisted of four very strong jams that got her a record deal with RCA. She has been in the studio working on her debut album, but to tide us over until then she has just dropped her first major label EP. Slow Dancing sees Betty accompanied by lush synths and catchy hooks with superb production provided by Peter Thomas. Slow Dancing proves Betty is a force to be reckoned and I have no doubt she's going to redefine the pop scene when her album finally drops.

1. Heartbreak Dream - 9/10

The quasi title track and first single was released on Valentine's Day and is my second favorite Betty Who track behind 'Somebody Loves You'. 'Heartbreak Dream' is a lush synth pop track with a strong '80s prom vibe. The lyrics are relatable and you just can't help but dance to it.

2. Alone Again - 7/10

'Alone Again' is a bouncy tune that follows the sound of 'Heartbreak Dream' but is even more '80s influenced. This feels like it could be a cover that Betty contemporized a bit. Things begin to soar when it hits the bridge and the guitar embarks on a gorgeous riff that'll have you playing the air guitar along with it at home. Just come a little closer, baby. I don't wanna be alone again.

3. Giving Me Away - 8/10

Our last uptempo on the EP is 'Giving Me Away' which follows the already established '80s sound. This one's giving me Flashdance vibes with the tinkling synth in the background. Betty's voice here is heavenly as she pushes her voice out of her comfort zone a bit. I really just get lost in this one and I can imagine this being a highlight in a live show.

4. Lovin' Start - 7/10

Betty brings the tempo down a bit with 'Lovin' Start'. The percolating beat gives the tune a bit of a bounce as she switches things up a bit. There's a slight R&B influence under all the layers of synth which provides a welcome contrast. This is definitely the most sexually charged track and it's exquisitely done getting you all hot and bothered in a very tender way.

5. Silas - 9/10

Ending the EP is the gorgeous ballad 'Silas' which is a major standout on this release. Upon first listen I wasn't too impressed, but this one's grown on me and I can't stop listening to it. It's one of those ethereal tracks that puts you in a dreamlike state as Betty's evanescent voice comes in and out delivering an emotional impact. It's much different than anything else she has done and proves that her ballads are just as strong as her uptempos.

Overall Rating: 8/10

The Bangerz Tour Proves Miley Cyrus Is the World's Leading Pop Star

It's been forever since I've gotten to do a concert review, and what's a more fitting return than Miley Cyrus? Ever since Miley announced her Bangerz Tour I had been toying with the idea of going. I really wasn't sure I wanted to spend that amount of money when I wasn't sure if the show would even be worth going to. Boy, was I wrong.

A friend and I had talked about going but we decided it was just a lot of money to spend. Then comes Tuesday, two days before Miley's show in East Rutherford, NJ, and my favorite website Hypable gets a pair of tickets and decides to give them away in a contest. Naturally I decided to enter, and lo and behold the next day I got an email saying I was going to the show! After minutes of flailing about in ecstasy, I got in touch with my friend Carol and made travel plans.

So we get to the venue and naturally we pick up some merch because how can you go to a Miley concert and not get a shirt with her sticking out her tongue on it? We made our way to our seats, but as soon as we found them we turned around and walked to the other side of the venue. I didn't expect much from free tickets and of course they were situated behind the stage (who the hell wants to sit there?). We went to the back of the venue and quickly found seats that gave us a straight view of the stage. Not bad at all.
Sky Ferreira took the stage first and what a travesty that was. People hail her as some kind of musical god, but I've never gotten into her. She played a couple songs that were quasi catchy in a '90s nostalgia kind of way, but she literally had no stage presence. I was watching the lights instead of her. Thankfully Icona Pop were up next, and they knocked my socks off. Those girls are not to be messed with. They performed all their singles, including their brand new one, 'It's My Party', that they had literally released two days before. Hearing their Swedish beats blasting through the arena was incredible and such an adrenaline rush. And then they ended with 'I Like It' and all was right with the world.
After far too long of an intermission, the lights dimmed and the anticipation and energy in the arena skyrocketed. Miley's face showed up on the screen as her eyes and mouth went crazy, and as the music amped up her mouth began opening and a long pink tongue made its decent. The tongue is actually a slide, and once it came all the way out, Miley popped out of her own mouth, waved frantically to the crowd, and then slid down the tongue. It was quite epic and I'd say it even rivals Britney's entrance on her The Circus Starring: Britney Spears tour. The opening notes of her Britney-assisted track 'SMS (Bangerz)' started and we were off.
What followed was ninety minutes of sheer outrageousness like only Miley could deliver. She had everything from fake Miley money to a giant bed where she had an orgy with her dancers to a giant Sesame Street puppet to outrageous multi-colored costumes. It was one energetic, crazed performance after another, but it was exhilarating. I went into the show not expecting much, but Miley proved to me that night that she's an entertainer and she's indisputably the leading pop star at the moment.

One of my favorite aspects of the show was how diverse it was. Bangerz is largely a hip-hop/rap album with an infusion of dance, but for the show Miley amped up her country roots with songs like '4x4' and 'Do My Thang'. But then songs like 'Drive' and 'Someone Else' were highlights of the night as her voice soared over the massive synths and pulsing beats that were amplified in the live arena. Her energy was high and she never let us forget that she was having the time of her life with her crass body movements and usage of the F-bomb. But hey, she's just being Miley, ya'll!
Things got mellow many times throughout the night though. Miley's dog just passed away a few days before the show and it affected her hard. She broke into tears many times, and let us all know that she was struggling to put on a smiling face. The pain was evident but she channelled it into her music, making those tender moments even more beautiful. Her acoustic portion of the show included a Bob Dylan track, Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' and the iconic Lana Del Rey anthem 'Summertime Sadness'. It was during this time that Miley's vocals took center stage and she proved why she's up there on that stage performing. As much as her antics may make headlines, she's got the goods to back her up and no one can take that away.

What made this show special for me though was that I came away with a new appreciation for her music. A concert is meant to give you that intimate connection with an artist, and Miley's show made me feel her music unlike any other show I've ever been to. Songs like 'On My Own', 'Someone Else' and 'F U' had always been good, but hearing and seeing them live gave me a whole new respect for them. 'Someone Else' sounds completely different than the studio version and was one of the major highlights of the show. And she rides out of the stadium on a giant hot dog during that song so how could you not have a greater appreciation for it?
Even though she didn't perform 'Party In the U.S.A.' she gave us 'Can't Be Tamed' with a massive replica of her dog. It was the only reminder of Miley's past music career, but Carol and I both freaked out when it came on and Miley slayed that song so it did her past justice. Miley is a much different artist than she used to be five years ago and I respect her so much more. The Bangerz Tour was full of extravagances like bobble head rappers and lots and lots of twerking, but it's a show that I'm never going to forget. Miley is the undisputed leader of the pop scene at the moment as far as I'm concerned.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6: Glamazon by Colorevolution

After last week's very sad elimination of my favorite this season, Milk, I knew the show just wouldn't be the same. In a very surprising move, Logo decided to air back-to-back episodes of Drag Race this week, giving us three full hours of cattiness and drama mama. It was a whirlwind, so let's get to it. This week for the mini-challenge, the girls had to hand model vegetables. This was obviously created so that Ru could make some very filthy puns. The girls put on their best acrylic nails and tried to sell. I didn't really think they were all that great, but Ru gave it to Laganja.

For the main challenge, the girls are tasked with creating an ad to sell Ru's new Glamazon perfume and make-up line. The ultimate shade of it all comes when Ru pairs up the girls: Laganja and Adore, Trinity and Bianca, DeLa and Darienne, and Courtney and Joslyn. This was made to bring the drama. Each pair is also given a theme so Laganja and Adore and mean girls, Trinity and Bianca are werking gals, DeLa and Darienne get cougars, and Courtney and Joslyn are the housewives.
Things turn sour very quickly as the pairs begin working together. Laganja just doesn't possess the skills to be funny so Adore is carrying the team. Trinity goes in once again with her defeated attitude, and Bianca is trying to do everything she can to amp her up. Darienne is being a major bitch to DeLa even though DeLa is being nothing but nice and trying to work with her. Joslyn and Courtney seem to have good chemistry until Courtney starts being very bitchy towards Joslyn. I'd kind of noticed it before, but from this moment onwards I've seen that Courtney has this "better than everyone" vibe about her, and her comments are coming off very nasty. It's not a good look, gurl. Okurrrr!

Laganja Estranja
In the main challenge, Laganja floundered. Her jokes weren't landing, and she just wasn't grasping the concept of what Ru wanted. In the finished product she looked good and came across well, but I think Adore had more to do with that than anything. On the runway Laganja's 'Black and White" look was a mess. Her outfit was ok, but her make-up was horrendous. I don't know why she thought that looked good.

Adore Delano
Adore is getting better and better each week. Remember when I said they were making her out to be the underdog? Well she's slaying now. She was the star in her Glamazon ad and had me laughing. Her look on the runway was gorgeous. Finally we got something other than her slightly too short mermaid dresses. The hair was on point and she sold it.

Bianca Del Rio
We could have crowned Bianca the winner of this season weeks ago. What can't this bitch do? Not only did she put all the work into her ad and made sure she was flawless, but she got Trinity to finally buck up and unleash her inner star. That's more work than any of the other girls had to do. Bianca's look was my favorite of the night as she came out in a Manila Luzon-esque wig and a heavenly ball gown that floated across the runway.

Trinity K. Bonet
What a transformation for Trinity. Last week I was ready to get rid of her and now I'm a fan. Thanks to Bianca, Trinity stepped up her game and showed why Ru chose to pick her for the show. Her ad for Glamazon was on point. She's actually quite funny when she lets go. On the runway she stunned in an elegant dice dress.

BenDeLaCreme
DeLa and Darienne didn't do the best job with their ads. It was funny, but they were selling plastic surgery not make-up. DeLa kind of got overshadowed by Darienne. Her look on the runway was fun as she was serving some Whoville realness, but it wasn't anything outstanding.

Darienne Lake
Darienne is grating on my nerves at the moment with her supremely bitchy and unwarranted attitude towards DeLa. However, she was hilarious in her Glamazon ad. Her runway was actually gorgeous as well. I think this is the best look she has had yet.

Courtney Act
I thought Courtney and Joslyn were quite funny in their ad even though they weren't completely prepared when they went in to film it in front of Ru and Michelle. On the runway she absolutely creamed the competition in this waitress couture outfit. Everything about it was perfect. She just needs to work on her attitude.

Joslyn Fox
Joslyn is surprising me week by week, and I'm really falling in love with her. She's genuinely funny and a nice person. Like I said, I enjoyed her in her Glamazon ad. Her runway this week, even though she served some ass which we all love, it was very been there done that. We've seen it before so she needs to switch it up.
Based on the screen tests, Adore and Laganja were the clear winners. Laganja lucked out this week. In the end, Darienne and DeLa fell into the bottom. Even though her attitude is busted, I think Darienne is supremely talented and so this Bottom Two I felt was unjust. Both queens lip synced for their lives and left everything on that stage. Since it was a Rupersized premiere I had a feeling there was going to be a double save this week and I was right. Ru rightfully saved both girls.

'XO' Music Video by The Plastics

Formerly known as Plastic, the trio boy group who auditioned for The X Factor UK last season and instantly won over my heart are back. They may not have gone far on X Factor, but their various music videos and covers kept their names out there.

They may be one of the most flamboyant and outrageous acts to ever grace our eyes, but they've got the talent to back it all up. Today they are rebranded as The Plastics and are bestowing upon us their cover of Beyoncé's hit 'XO'. The boys are no stranger to showing some skin, and (thankfully) they bare it all in this very NSFW video.

What I love about this video is that it's very UK urban grungy teen scene. It reminds me a lot of Skins which is never a bad thing. Over a very subdued and gorgeous version of Beyoncé's song, with a snapping beat reminiscent of Lorde's 'Royals', The Plastics can be seen showing off their cute asses and ripped abs, getting hot and bothered with each other, groping themselves, and taking naughty dick pics. There couldn't be a more accurate representation of our culture at this time.

The Plastics are always cheeky, but they're not afraid to get real and raw which is one of the reasons why I love them so much. Support these boys and hopefully they can get to work and release an album full of original sexy dance tracks to bless our ears.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6: Drag Queens of Comedy

Not only was this week a double dose of Ru and the most fabulous drag queens, but in Part 1 of the Rupersized premiere, there was a shocking non-elimination. Darienne and DeLa battled it out, but Ru felt DeLa still had more to give and rightfully saved her. We're still at 8 queens remaining at the top of Part 2 of this week's helping of Drag Race so who will be the next casualty?

For this week's mini-challenge, the girls have to lip sync but in a very unconventional way: lying on their backs upside down. The girls have to drag out their chins and lip sync to RuPaul's music as they try to serve the best mouth. Adore and Bianca slayed it, but out of nowhere Ru named Joslyn the winner. For the main challenge, the queens are tasked with creating a stand-up comedy routine. The prize for winning the mini challenge is that Joslyn gets to select the order in which the girls will perform.
The comedy challenge is the one dreaded by all but a few each season. This was obviously made for Bianca to win, and if she didn't get this one I would be shocked. Darienne is really the only other natural comedienne out of the bunch so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. We sense from the beginning that Laganja is really struggling. She's taking this overboard, and I really don't see how her "character" is funny. DeLa seems to struggle as well. Joslyn of course creates a very strategic line-up for the comedy show, and with a crowd consisting of old folks it'll be interesting to see how the jokes translate on stage. (Anyone notice Jinkx's "old military gay" from last season in the audience?)

Darienne Lake
First up is Darienne and we all know she's got this in the bag. She warms up the audience and continues to drive home one-liners that had me cracking up. The highlight of her routine was when she said she was a ninja because you'll never find her in a gym. I thought her outfit was a bit dull though. I love the hair but it looks like she just draped a shimmery sheet over herself.

Courtney Act
Courtney has her comedic moments, and she started off ok. She obviously used her being Australian to her advantage. She then proceeded to do an acapella song she wrote. While I enjoyed it, I also thought it wasn't the best idea because it gave her a way out from coming up with comedic jokes. Her look was on point though.

Adore Delano
I was expecting Adore to be a bit better than she ended up being. She basically defaulted to what Detox did last year during the roast. Because she got uncomfortable she reverted to laughing nervously and dropping F-bombs every other word. She had the material, but she just didn't expand on it as much as she could have.

BenDeLaCreme
The pressure really got to her this week. DeLa completely floundered with this challenge. She talked about Seattle but never really got a laugh out of the crowd. At one point, one older gentleman asked her when she was gonna tell a joke and DeLa promptly left the stage. That was completely uncalled for, but there is some truth to it. Her outfit, I thought, didn't really fit the challenge. It looked like she was Honey Boo Boo competing in a beauty pageant.

Laganja Estranja
What the hell was she on? Laganja murdered her performance but in the worst way possible. She came out with the most ridiculous character ever. She overemphasized jokes like Tex-ass and they all fell flat. Her antics were so ridiculous that there was no humor to them. And don't even get me started on that hair. What is that, mama?

Trinity K. Bonet
I'm beginning to see a lot of similarities between Coco Montrese and Trinity in this stage of the game. During the roast, Coco also really shone in a way I had never seen before. Trinity turned it out this week. She kept to the more personal familial side of comedy with her jokes, and everything about reading the cookbook almost killed me. And I liked seeing her in a more sophisticated look this week.

Joslyn Fox
Joslyn started out very strong, but then bombed. Her ADD-rhinestone joke was perfect, but then she moved on and lost her pizazz. If she had played off the ADD thing she could have had a very strong performance. I also thought the outfit was completely out of place, and if I see that necklace one more time I'm gonna throw it into the bottom of the ocean like the old lady at the end of Titanic.

Bianca Del Rio
Ending the comedy show is the woman we've all been waiting to see. Bianca steps on stage and promptly destroys everyone that came before here, this season, and all previous season combined. Comedy is Bianca's forte and she brought the house down. It's always amazing watching someone's talent shine like this. And her outfit was classic Bianca so there was nothing you could fault her on this week.
Like we all guessed, Bianca was the standout winner. Unsurprisingly, Laganja and Joslyn fall into the Bottom Two but not before we get the waterworks from Laganja. These two going head-to-head in the Lip Sync for Your Life is truly one of epic proportions. They both go into a standing split leg at the same time and proceed to leave their souls on the stage. Joslyn definitely outdoes Laganja though. It's so sad to see Laganja go home as I originally had her pegged for Top 3, but she crumbled in the competition and got quite annoying. But, she is the first queen in Drag Race her-story to actually "sashay" away so you gotta give her credit for that.
This week's Untucked was simply outrageous and one of the most draining episodes the show has ever had. Laganja amped things up to a max and everyone turned against her. It really painted her in a very negative light which is a shame because I know many fans turned against her. Even though I hated how she was acting, I am still a huge fan of hers and she can turn the party better than half the bitches out there. Keep on mama, okurrrrr!

'Fall Into Love' Music Video by Wrathschild

Wrathschild, the brand new duo consisting of pop diva Simon Curtis and Wolfy, released their debut single a couple weeks ago and it is easily my favorite song at the moment. Nothing else compares, and it's going to make this summer awesome as I blast it in the car with the windows rolled down. Song of the Summer, anyone?

Today, we finally get the video for 'Fall Into Love' and if it's even possible (which I don't think it is) it made me love the song and the duo even more. Simon has always had a soft spot in my heart, but he's even more adorable and sexy in this video than I could have imagined. And that onesie? Iconic. Next year's Halloween costume, maybe?

The video is just as fun as you would expect it to be. The duo are driving around the streets in a Jeep as they make a few pitstops. The first is to an arcade after which they then proceed to run through the streets and Simon shows us his bad boy side as he tags a wall. After some impressive platform shoe running, they arrive at the beach and perform some sort of spell with a rose. Why couldn't Simon have been on last season of Coven? He'd be the next supreme for sure.

Now that I'm looking back at this, it became a total Simon Curtis fan girl moment but do I care? No. I'm just so enamored by Wrathschild and their music that I can't stop singing their praises. They better blow up into the next big thing otherwise the world needs to get a new pair of ears.
